Job Title: Finance and Administration Officer (EU projects)
Location: Belgium (GT) Duration: fixed-term contract till the end of December 2026, renewable based on funding, 38h/week
DevelopmentPeople is currently in the process of identifying candidates for the position of Finance & Administration Officer (EU Projects) on behalf of an international non-governmental organization (INGO) working in the field of human rights and protection. The role will support the financial management and administration of EU-funded projects, with a strong focus on financial closure, compliance, and consortium reporting.
Position Overview
The position plays a key role in ensuring financial integrity, audit readiness, and effective financial planning for ongoing and future initiatives. Reporting to the Head of Finance & Administration, the postholder will contribute to both operational finance and business development processes, while supporting regional offices.
The position is based in Belgium and is offered on a full-time, fixed-term contract until December 2026, with the possibility of renewal depending on funding.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the financial consolidation and final reporting of EU-funded projects, including acting as a focal point for Expenditure Verification (EV) processes
- Prepare and support financial reporting in compliance with EU regulations (including FPA/PRAG requirements)
- Design and develop budgets and financial narratives for new project proposals
- Monitor financial performance and provide oversight to regional offices, including coordination with field locations
- Ensure full compliance with donor regulations and internal financial procedures
- Support audit preparation and ensure financial documentation is accurate and complete
Profile Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in finance and reporting for EU-funded projects
- Strong expertise in accounting, financial analysis, and budget management, ideally within multi-partner or consortium projects
- Experience with EU financial rules and compliance frameworks (e.g., PRAG, FPA)
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required
- Previous experience in international NGOs or development organizations is highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage complex financial processes
- Ability to work in a multicultural and international environment
