Job Title: Professional Learning and Development Specialist

Location: Jakarta, Indonesia, Hybrid (with travel) Contract Permanent, Full-Time

DevelopmentPeople is currently in the process of identifying candidates for the position of Professional Learning and Development Specialist on behalf of an international organization operating in the education sector. The role plays a key part in supporting the adoption and growth of English language learning products and services in Indonesia. Working closely with country-level leadership and regional commercial teams, the postholder will use their academic expertise to support schools and institutions in selecting solutions aligned with their teaching objectives.

By delivering high-quality training and consultancy, the selected candidate will help strengthen institutional relationships and ensure effective implementation and long-term engagement with educational solutions.

Position Overview

The role focuses on designing and delivering impactful professional learning experiences that demonstrate how educational resources can be applied in real classroom environments. The postholder will support institutions both before and after product adoption, ensuring successful implementation, effective use, and sustained engagement.

Based in Jakarta, the position supports institutions across Indonesia and the wider Southeast Asia region, contributing to academic consultancy, product training, and professional development aligned with integrated teaching and assessment approaches.

The role follows a hybrid working model, with an expected balance between office presence and travel requirements, particularly during the initial onboarding phase.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with local and regional teams to support the uptake and effective use of English language learning products and services
  • Deliver engaging training sessions, workshops, and consultancy support for teachers and institutional stakeholders (both in-person and online)
  • Provide academic support throughout pre- and post-adoption phases to ensure successful implementation and ongoing engagement
  • Represent the organization at training events, conferences, and academic forums
  • Adapt and localize training content to align with the Indonesian curriculum and local educational context
  • Monitor developments in the education sector and contribute insights to inform training and positioning strategies
  • Collect feedback, evaluate the impact of training activities, and report on outcomes
  • Coordinate training logistics, documentation, and internal reporting processes

Key Requirements

  • Degree in Education, Applied Linguistics, or a related field
  • Recognized English language teaching qualification (e.g., DELTA, MA TESOL or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of the Indonesian education system and curriculum
  • Proven experience in teacher training and professional development delivery
  • Solid classroom teaching experience in English language education
  • Solid classroom teaching experience in preparing students for international English language qualifications
  • Familiarity with international English language qualifications, assessments, or learning materials
  • Near-native level of English (written and spoken)
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt content to different audiences and cultural contexts
  • Strong digital literacy and organizational skills
  • Experience working in international or multicultural environments

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education, Applied Linguistics, or related field (in addition to language teaching specific qualifications such as MA TESOL)
  • Experience in English language teaching sector within Southeast Asian countries other than Indonesia
  • Familiarity with international English language qualifications, assessments, or learning materials
  • Experience adapting global content to local curricula and education systems
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • Ability to assess training impact and apply insights to improve learning outcomes
